All registered Stony Brook University students can receive Symantec AntiVirus software and either Microsoft Office 2007 Enterprise or Office 2008 for Mac at no additional charge. The cost of this software is included as part of the student's technology fee. In order to obtain Microsoft Office, students must bring their Stony Brook ID to either the Seawolves Marketplace or Matthews Bookstore. Symantec AntiVirus can be downloaded from Softweb.
Purchasing a Dell Computer
The Division of Information Technology (DoIT) has set up an easy way of purchasing Dell equipment (i.e. computers, printers, etc.) for personal use. Dell Computers has given Stony Brook University below-state pricing, by at least 10%, for their systems.
You must visit http://www.stonybrook.edu/dellpersonal then click on Start Shopping under Full Catalog to see the available special offers.
Note: The first time that you log into the Dell site, you will be required to register yourself and select a password.

You can use your educational discount to purchase Apple merchandise through Seawolves MarketPlace located just off the main lobby of the Student Activities Center (SAC) or through the online Stony Brook Apple store. Seawolves MarketPlace offers the Apple Educational Discount plus special promotional discounts on laptops and iPods not available online. Compare the prices being offered at both stores before you make your purchase.
