Mathworks
Mathworks is a software package for PC, Unix and Linux machines. There are two different licenses offered this year. There is a Classroom License and an Academic License, which is for the research and individual users. These Licenses are Multi-Platform floating network licenses. Note the various toolboxes, which have been purchased this year. Additional Toolboxes can be added at an additional cost. If you are interested in purchasing a toolbox not listed, call Marilyn Heinrich @ 2-8038.
How do you obtain Mathworks?
MathWorks is providing one copy of the media and documentation for all the machines on campus through one support point. License Participants will receive the software from Computing Services and any questions should be directed to Marilyn Heinrich at 2-8038 or via e-mail. Software licensing is renewed annually on July 1st. This will allow Computing Services sufficient time to receive payments from subscribers, so that payment can be made to the Vendor in a timely fashion.
What is the cost of a MatLab License?
The current license fee is $100.00 per license. Each license allows one user to access the software at a time (If you purchase 5 licenses, your department can have 5 users accessing the software at a time).
How do you Participate in the MathWorks College Site License?
To participate in the MathWorks College Site License, a license agreement form must be completed and submitted by each System Manager. The agreement form should be sent to the Business Office for the Division of Information Technology along with a signed Material and Services Requisition indicating the participating machines and the account to be charged. Upon receipt of payment, the System Manager will be contacted to discuss how the software will be made available.
Division of Information Technology |
Licenses are tied to a specific computer system by IP address. If the computer system you intend to install Matlab on has a DHCP assigned IP address, you must contact your network administrator and obtain a static IP address. Only systems with static IP addresses will be accommodated.
